Group
Lessons
Dear Student and Parents,
The policy is effective January 1, 2005
1. Tuition and schedule: Opening a group class requires
a minimum of 5 people, 1 hour for each class. If less 5
people sign up, either the class is cancelled, and you will
get the full refunds; or if 3 - 4 people agree, the class
will be 30 minutes long. Tuition is based on semester length.
For example, a longer semester is higher will have more
classes and thus have higher tuition rates.
2. We encourage that students register for a new semester
as early as possible in order to reserve a position that
fits your level. The tuition won’t be deposited until the
1st class starts in the new semester.
3. The schedule for a new semester’s class and learning
materials are based on the number of people that register.
The tuition will not be refundable after registration. No
make-up classes will be provided for an absent student.
4. If a student registers in the middle of a semester,
the fees for classes that were missed will be refunded.
However after registration, the rules in #3 stand: The tuition
will not be refundable after registration. No make-up classes
will be provided for an absent student.
5. Anyone who wants to take extra private lessons, please
make an appointment as early as possible (see right side
of page: rules for private lesson). This also can apply
to an absent student who wishes to make up his/her missed
lesson(s). This is an extra charge in addition to the tuition
paid during registration. The tuition for the missed class
will not be refundable.
6. The rules are changed during the Summer Semester classes.
Since many people take their vacation during summer at different
times, the tuition can be based on the number of classes
actually taken, but must be paid in during registration
in one installment. The student has to make clear his/her
vacation schedule and classes he/she plans to attend during
registration. This flexible rule don’t apply to Autumn and
Spring Semester classes. After registration, the rules stated
in #1-#5 still apply.
7. All students are expected to practice on a daily basis
(except illness, traveling, etc.) Suggested practice time:
Beginners: 20-30 minutes
Intermediate: 30-45 minutes
Advanced: 45-60 minutes (or more)
8. If you need my help on buying instruments or accessories,
I’d like to help you get high quality and low price merchandise.
The prices of music instruments and/or accessories we are
able to receive are much lower than major music shops in
Houston.
9. If a student is not satisfied with the normal progress,
he/she can require a sight-reading audition. Sight-reading
music is confidential; student can get the music in 3 minutes
before the test, and only one chance for each student. Sticky
or mistake will lost qualify and stop the audition, then
get a score. Details see:
